Tonight

Tonight

A Poem by Maria F. Rojas
"

Out of a sudden that I felt so blue and thought of him while my daughter was having a good time at the ice skating tonight.

"

A cold night like tonight,

warmed up my hands by

pockets,

felt musics,

stood in a busy crowd

at the ice skating,

and studied everyone

that speedly skated

past me.

Tonight was the night

everyone was cheerily happy.

A cold night like tonight,

A smile on my face

turned updown as a frown

I tried not to allow myself

welcoming  those thoughts.

Again.

Tonight was the night,

I felt heartbroken.

A cold night like tonight,

those happy couples I saw,

in passionately love with each other,

massaged their hands and kisses

behind those christmas trees.

I felt so blues.

Tonight was the night,

I was like the ice

being skated by

each of their blade shoes.

A cold night like tonight,

I closed my eyes,

remembered you

arrived at my door

as you sneaked in

then kissed me

surprisely.

Tonight was the night,

you made my night

everlastly.

A cold night like tonight,

As my eyes shut,

some tears flooded.

You are no longer belonged

to be mine.

Frown I had on my face

felt dry

and then wet my lips.

Only you could kiss a frown

to a smile

Only if tonight was the night,

you could be still mine.

First off, I read you're about me, and I was dissappointed that you hadn't posted your first poem, "Nobody" on here. I wanted to see it so I could compare and mention on how far you had come! You should definetly put it up =). But anyway, about your poem. I liked the repition of the line "A cold night like tonight". I liked how you painted enough of a picture for people to relate to what you were saying. I know I could. I know how you feel, maybe not a husband, but definetly a significant other. This was a very good write, thank you for sharing!
