A Golden Ring on a Pig's SnoutA Poem by Uche AhunanyaA poem by Uche Ahunanya
The pig will always admire
The dirty smelly quagmire; After a thousand hours of bath He still must tread the dirty path Waste not your gold on his snout Or your kingly meal in his mouth Dirty thing: a pig will remain a pig Despite his training, small or big So is it among us men: There are those whom After you've treated them as royalty Undeservedly And served them with pure loyalty Unreservedly They turn around and bite you In a way that surprises even the Serpent An ingrate will always be an ingrate Give your prized loyalty to those who know the price.
