Father

Father

A Poem by Anonymous
"

My first completed song of my faith...

"
(A)
Father, can you hear me?
I’m looking for Your Light
You’re the only one who sees
My tears deep in the night

(B)
Father, would you hold me close?
Wrapped up in Your arms
My sin is like an overdose
But Your love keeps me from harm

(CHORUS)
You are the God who sees me
You are the King of Light
You are Holy, Holy, Holy
I’m saved by Your great might
Holy, Holy, Holy
Saved by Your great might

(C)
Father, when I'm cold and dead
You'll fill me with your Life
His broken body is my bread
The darkness is my strife

(D)
Father, would you watch me dance?
Hear me sing Your praise
You've given me the final chance
To love You all my days

(BRIDGE - x2)
I lie down and fall to peaceful sleep
I wake again, Lord, my soul You keep
I will not fear thousands of demons
Arise, Father, arise!
(2nd time only) Arise, Father, arise!

(CHORUS)
You are the God who sees me
You are the King of Light
You are Holy, Holy, Holy
I’m saved by Your great might
Holy, Holy, Holy
Saved by Your great might

I have a very strong faith, but I've always had trouble writing songs about it. Hopefully this turned out decent.

I knew you would make a good song writer. This just needs music and someone who can sing it well. Alas, Roy Khan has left Kamelot, so there goes my hope of someday in the far uncertain future hearing him sing this.

A bit dark for what I have come to expect from hymnals, I think this would be something good to add because of its new blood. It's real. People die and succumb to despair. None of the songs I hear tell such a tale, of those who are lost and wish to be found, crying out with all their heart even though those around cannot hear.

A good song. Too bad I can't hear it sung.

^^ I really enjoyed reading this. I felt like I could hear the words and music in my head with each word.

This song made me feel really happy. It was amazing, really, it was. Lately, I've been feeling soooo far away from my Father. It makes me so sad and desperate. Ive tried to read books related to Hin and maybe the Bible, and I've prayed, but He still seems so distant - like I'm reaching out for His hand but I can't reach. Like I'm screaming His name but He can't really hear me... Or maybe it's even the other way around. It's really starting to kill me...
I've kind of strayed away from talking about your song, I apologize. It was wonderful and I'm glad you've taken a moment to honor Him. You're such a beautiful daughter of God. He's smiling down at you. This will be going into my library. I love you, Onee-chan. Great job.

I really love this...I have faith myself, of course you wouldn't
know it by the poems I write LOL! There are some really great
lines in this: His broken body is my bread
I lie down and fall to peaceful sleep
I wake again, Lord, my soul You keep
I will not fear thousands of demons
Arise, Father, arise!
This is very powerful, and emotional too.
I think in times like these we look for something to believe
in so we won't feel alone

I like the flow and the desire of your words. The words brought out hope and faith. A beautiful and hopeful poem. Thank you.
