PromisesA Poem by AnonymousA song that I have perfectly in my head that goes along with an acoustic guitar. Hopefully the readers will hear it while reading, as well. When I told you I would go as far
To stay with you, wherever you are We both were young and we weren't so smart But still, I kept it sound in my heart Your hand in mine, we stood so high Our hearts were beating like rain in the sky I turned and I said to you “Where do we go now?” You smiled and you said to me “The real question’s ‘how?’” The journeys we made together those years The love, the scars, the hot shedding tears They broke us and built us under God’s great blue skies You’ve seen me at best and seen through the lies Well, I’ve kept my promise, solid and stilled When we meet again, will your promise be filled? I’ll gaze through your mournful eyes And point out the memories deep in those skies You’re made for me, you’re made for me Oh, how I hope and I breathe the stories we’ll make and weave So youthful, so happy, you and me Oh, how I long and dream that you’ll be the one for me Promises we will keep that pass by with faithful leaps Please, oh, my dear, Remember I’m near. © 2011 AnonymousReviews
