Lucy X EdwardA Story by AnonymousAn HOS story... hehe.
Bells were singing like giant silver birds. The ring of the bells droned
on across the fields jubilantly. Atop a little grassy hill, a quaint
little church stood sleepily, its aged white paint peeling and the old
rose vines running up its walls gracefully wilting. Rows of cars were
scattered on the surrounding grass, parked just a little further than a
wide dirt path that slithered up and down the valleys. An intricately
carved marble birdbath was hidden somewhere in the church's quiet
garden, snuggled up against aging beds of tulips and hydrangeas.
Inside the church, row after row of pews were filled with smiling people facing the altar. The whethered ceiling beams were dressed with white and yellow flowers planted into shimmering garland. A beautiful white rug with golden lining was rolled down the middle of the pews, little yellow petals scattered over the floor like tiny footprints. Standing at the altar in a trim black suit with a white necktie tucked in his collar, was a young man with long blonde hair tied back in a braid. He held the hands of a young woman in a gorgeous white sleeveless gown, dressed with lace and little plastic blossoms all around the waistline. She had brown-red hair that was tied up in a braided twist, covered by a thin white veil. The young couple gazed deeply into each others eyes while the pastor read the wedding speech. "Not only is marriage a statement of love, but it is a spiritual bond between two souls that dedicate..." read the pastor. In the midst of everyone in the crowd listening to the sermon, the young woman whispered to her partner faintly. "I really didn't want all this traditional stuff... How long do we have to stand here?" she muttered. "Oh, come on. Wasn't it fun planning all of this? The place looks great, everyone is here, and you look amazing," the young man whispered back, smiling. The girl blushed intensely, and tried not to smile back. "Don't try to flatter me, Ed... The faster this goes by, the better!" The pastor suddenly rose his voice and the couple turned to him and listened. "Now, do you, Edward Elric, take Lucille Mustang to be your lawfully wedded wife, in wealth and in hardship, in sickness and in health, til death do you part?" "I do," he said, his grin spreading from ear-to-ear. "And do you, Lucille Mustang, take Edward Elric to be your lawfully wedded husband, in wealth and in hardship, in sickness and in health, til death do you part?" Lucy's heart swelled until it felt like it would explode. She squeezed Edward's hands, feeling his warm grip and the cold metal of his Automail. She had come to love the feeling of his Automail; it made her feel strangely safe in his arms, despite the bad memories that came with it for both of them. "You bet I do," she finally said, feeling her ears burn with excitement. She heard Pinako in the crowd, blowing her nose in a handkerchief; she had been crying for the entire ceremony. "Very well," the pastor said. "I now pronounce you husband and wife." A massive sound of celebratory cheering and clapping filled the room as Lucy gave up her attempt and grinned wide at her partner. "I guess it was worth the wait, huh?" she said. "Told you!" Edward laughed. "You can be so..." "Don't go there, Fullmetal." "C'mon, jerk," Edward smiled. "A*s," Lucy blushed again. Edward wrapped one arm around Lucy's waist and pulled her close, pressing his chest against hers. Lucy leaned over and put her arms around his neck as she kissed Ed. It felt like a shockwave pulsed through her as she hugged him as close as two people could get to each other. She felt like she was finally complete, as if everything in her past was erased by the binding of her and Edward's hearts. Ed picked her up bridal style (it seemed appropriate) and spun her around three times, gazing into her eyes and smiling wider than he ever had before. Lucy's heart felt like it was permanently warm. She was now Lucille Elric, the bride of the young man she once hated a few years ago. They'd been through so much together, and she could only imagine what new adventures they would have together as husband and wife. "I love you, Edward," Lucy whispered to him, tweaking his nose happily. "I love you, too, Lucy," Edward replied. "Lucille Elric, my bride. My beautiful bride. You're finally all mine." © 2010 AnonymousAuthor's Note
