There's a fire in my heartA Poem by UbiquitousMy first romantic poemThere’s a fire in my heart That threatened to burn away the forest The foliage, the pines, the meadows Turn them all to white ash Peppering the forest floor like freshly
fallen snow There’s a fire in my heart That threatened to burn everything The wilting trees, the yellowed grass The long dead daisies above what used to
be childlike innocence Now six feet under Not quite dead, but certainly lacking
animation There’s a fire in my heart that I let
spread Burning away the old The dry The leaves torn to the ground by
passers-by Not paying attention to their
destruction There’s a fire in my heart Cleansing Bringing new hope Allowing sprouts and saplings to push
through fertile soil And be nourished by the spring morning
dew There’s a fire in my heart that burned
away my forests And I thank whatever gods may be for the
one who sparked it © 2016 UbiquitousAuthor's Note
