America: Priorities

America: Priorities

A Poem by eli mercuree rue

F**k yeah, America, this is what we do.
We lie, we cheat, and we scheme.
We throw million dollar parties just to make a b***h scream.
We’re the most insubordinate group of pricks you'll ever meet.
P***y sellin’,
Platinum spinner-ridin’ pimps;
Collars limp, wonderin’ which b***h of his
He’s gonna have to replace with the ten year old down the street;
Whose been sucking dick since she was three.
Mamas at home cryin' after work, three double shifts.
Low rent, s**t that don't mean all their money ain't already spent.
Little Junior ain't got s**t else to do but run the f****n' streets, reppin' that blue;
Sellin' dope to make that green.
It's f*****g obscene to accept these rights of passage;
Sitting' back watchin' from the big screen.

Let me pull out my f****n' gun;
'Rouse this sea of sleepin' people.
Maybe my cynical ways will get some assistance in this prison we've been placed in without our writ of habeas corpus.
I don't know, I thought I lived in
America, land of the free.
Equal opportunity for all, light shed equal.
Stress that word equal.
Malcolm X said,
"If you are not ready to die for it, take the word freedom out of your vocabulary."
I don't know about you,
But I been ready to die since I was born.
What s**t else are we living for?
See our lives snatched from under our feet because we still think we need money to succeed.
Money ain't s**t;
Just a f****n' piece of paper.
Just a quick collateral to remind us of the world we're from.
A world where we ain't never see the sun.
Three months on a f****n' boat;
Hot, damp, chained to our rivals,
Forced to eat their piss and s**t.
Babies snatched out of mothers arms,
She better take the beating, or they gonna make her watch the murder of her first born son.
F**k the KKK.

Those white supremacist b******s,
Play tricks on the black mans mind like they some kind of Houdini.
I ain't never believed in magic; but this is
America.

We sit and we watch.

We sit and we watch.

We sit and we f*****g watch.

We get all pissed off when s**t don't go our way;
                                     when nobody wants to help anybody.
We cry at the foots of the graves
             of five year olds who got shot
                        just walkin' down the street.

This is our

America.
                   Dumpster ridden men,
                         50 years, old 6ft tall
        But can't stand on his own two feet.

America, we got junkie love,

       and alcoholics getting away with murder.
MADD and SADD do their best to get their points across;

But America is full of us non-listening egocentric dicks;
              with heads so far up our own asses
                               that that feeling of general satisfaction is nonexistent.

What has happened to the freeman’s soul?
                           It's starting to look extinct in
America.

And why?

Because all we're really worried about is making that green.

I'm feeling the anger.
Not gonna say it isn't a rant, because it is, but it's an impassioned rant, depicting skilfully the bleak situations in which people are living; it's got attitude, and the narrator speaks like a witness to it all (besides, no matter where you live, if you have access to the news, you ARE a f*****g witness...amen).
Kind of reads like a reply to criticism of lifestyle or problems, like someone saying 'what's that kid shooting up his school for? what's his f*****g problem' and you've gone ' well listen the f**k up, this is the world he's living in' and 'why's everyone on drugs all the time' 'listen up, we'd rather be high than face this s**t' and so fecking on...
You've compounded everything that you feel is wrong with the nation into this one piece; some of it is done well, with continuity, some of it reads like Eminem on a pissed off day coming out with whatever controversy he can name...it never loses our interest though - we're waiting to see if you'll provide a solution, or a sole cause, or a tiny grain of hope in whatever form...
and it turns out that the answer is there all the way through: snakes and ladders where everyone's rolling ones and wanting double sixes and there's a snakehead on square 100, because at the end of the day nobody wins.

"Let me pull out my f****n' gun;
'Rouse this sea of sleepin' people.
Maybe my cynical ways will get some assistance in this prison we've been placed in without our writ of habeas corpus." - narrator demonstrating that even those with intelligence and knowledge can feel like violence is the only answer because otherwise the apathy will engulf them and they'll drown.

"F**k the KKK.
Those white supremacist b******s,
Play tricks on the black mans mind like they some kind of Houdini.
I ain't never believed in magic; but this is America." - a new spin on 'the land of dreams and magical things' - f**k Disneyland, lauren lays the KKK out on the table, let's open this up.

Good s**t.

I wanted to read the first thing you posted.
You've 'grown' and all that, but the it was definitely there to start with.

I like it, cuz the anger is there. You don't fake it or make it sound prettier than it is. America is dirty and covering that dirt is the job of politicians not people.
