Seeing the Same ThingA Poem by UC PoikaThe best of lovers and the worst of criminals see the same thing each in their own way, the one disapproves the other forgives in sonnet form of course.
Little things like playing with your feet in the car Brushing the cookie crumbs out of your hair Sticking my eye to your white teeth through a jar Or just loving the idea we are a coupled pair, Walking pigeon-toed and begging for love Crossing my eyes, sticking out my tongue snakelike, Gagging at gangsters we both were thinking of Staring at seniors encountered along the hike Realizing your eyes penetrate me Stopped in my tracks by it being profound My inner being revealed people hate me Before your love had ever made no sound; The criminal sees what only criminals scan The very same things the best of loves can! © 2014 UC PoikaFeatured Review
