Love me for HimA Poem by UC PoikaA villanelle, a 19 lined form with 2 refrains and only 2 rhymes throughout about love with perhaps a surprise in the end.
Do you think of me when you love me for him
Undercover there where your heart is your own Though my head is hollow and both my eyes are dim? You fill your cup from across the world to the brim Adding no vanilla just like I've known . . . Do you think of me when you love me for him? I play the game for you are so thin and trim Because you exercise and your body has grown Though my head is hollow and both my eyes are dim. When you leave for home my apartment is very grim Such loneliness in my heart is not overthrown . . . Do you think of me when you love me for him? I stand up straight and watch you leave for the gym Wishing you had kisses where mine might have blown Though my head is hollow and both my eyes are dim. I should maybe sing praises, go out on the limb, Or at least listen for some sacred sounding tone Do you think of me when you love me for Him Though my head is hollow and both my eyes are dim? © 2014 UC PoikaAuthor's Note
