Opening the Seal

Opening the Seal

A Poem by UC Poika
"

About finding out if love is real even on the rebound.

"

Did I tell the tears in your eyes to dry with your breath
When in the mourning you found his wife on his mind
And grieved to think you betrayed your heart to death
That second best was the best you might now find
My beaten heart awoke in a crabby mood
But she was glad you were not there to feel my wrath
Nor to hear me finding everything said was rude
Afraid to feel too soon I had chosen this path
The want to be all there was in your eyes was gone
As I sat on the loveseat alone and so sad
And broke an unused ashtray there in the dawn
Glistening like gems or your pain filled eyes when mad
I knew this love would be real and that I would feel
If once again you took the chance and opened the seal.
