Aphrodite

Aphrodite

A Poem by Tyson03
"

Read it and it'll come to you naturallly. Wrote this when I felt rather odd about love.

"

Treading over so lightly,

Turning the weak into mighty

fixing up the unsightly

and hurting ever so slighty

She sets her sights upon me

and begins to sing a song;

Sings of how I act kindly,

she couldn't be farther from wrong

Looking towards the light,

I begin to feel

a love that is unfounded,

my lust for her is unreal

Her beauty is astounding,

one that I shant forget;

controls those all around me

turning them into pets.

However, I shall not be

a slave to sight,

For I choose not to put

myself through that plight

For, Aphrodite, I can see who you are

for it is you that has truly marred

our once great society,

a history that is now scarred,

your grasp ever-reaching,

from near to far

You are false hope

You are misery

For you are nothing

but a mischievous deity
