A Faraway Love

A Faraway Love

A Poem by Peter Schal

  A Faraway Love

What thinks you, that I am greatly in love?

Is it the way that I share such good joy?

I feel my heart flutter like a white dove,

As I pass among you, my lovely toy.

You are acute; one cannot deny it,

Your voice is light, like a snowflake falling.

Yet I seem to not keep my voice quiet,

A demeanor which I find appalling.

Your eyes are green, like a summer’s meadow;

I laugh and frolic in its very depths.

The skies be blue and the mountains mellow,

The wind, it doth kisses my dancing steps.

Hear, I wish greatly for your gentle touch,

A trait of yours I miss quite very much.

Please ignore the paragraph format; although I do concur with my thoughts: it is quite appealing, at least in my own opinion.

This puts me in mind of light flirting and mild foreplay. A decadent read.
