Tireless Demon

Tireless Demon

A Poem by Ryan Falzon - Tymon

"
Keep following the hovering leaves,
faster then the greatest theifs.
For the the demon is behind us,
and it is you whom I only trust.
The demon with the two tails.
Chasing us in all of winter's gails.
Let him run and he shall tire.
It is only you whom I admire.
The demon has grown wings.
What does it all really bring?
It flies and lands right here.
I look up, and shed the first tear.
The demon chases us in anger.
Give me a reson not to surrender?
How does it have unlimited power?
How can I not hide and cower?
The demon is now spitting flames.
Is there any time when it tames?
I cannot run for any much longer.
Please save me as it gets stronger.
I cannot run from this nightmare,
But why should you even care?
I am trapped in my own shadow.
Hidden behind a dimmed glow.
One day the demon shall devour.
And in it's belly I shall still cower.
Is there no way to seal it's fate?
Where are the heavnly gates?
Why am I trapped in this cage?
What did I do to awaken it's rage?
Please I beg of you let me free.
Or is it just too late for me?
I fear this is my final plea.
It shall soon absorve me.
I beg of you, enter my soul.
and free me from my own hole.

Author's Note

Ryan Falzon - Tymon
This poem is actually about pessimism, where the demon is actually negative thoughts.
The friend represents someone whom he is asking to help him with his "problems". Only in the final stanzas does the poet realize that the demon is his own doing.

...
. a tale of inner demons well told ... the narrative is extremely poignant ... each stanza traverses new territory ... a very consuming read ... very overwhelming ... and in the end ... very inspiring ... courage and resilience are my favourite words and your words lead to them ...

Yeah, all demons in thoughts is a negative thing. Like the demon is ripping someone apart because it doesn't know what else it has to do with it's life. Everyone has something they think is a demon in them. Even if that person is really sweet and nice. They are always hiding something. Thanks for sharing. :)
