False tales

False tales

A Poem by Ryan Falzon - Tymon
"

Always doubt the obvious facts. And never accept abstracts.

"
Four sides, holding hands.
Lucky whom he finds
Written by the fool's folklore
A legend that always blinds.

Perfert road, a single crack.
One step, break someones back.
Could be yours, anyones really.
Depends if you take it seriously

Tipped over a pince of salt!
Throw it over your left shoulder!
To put the demons at a halt!
Now you feel a little bit bolder!

These are the fool's tales.
Written to turn everyone pale.
Fear strikes everyone about
Except those who are in doubt.

Never question why to ask.
See both sides of the glass.
Always doubt the obvious facts.
And never accept abstracts.

Author's Note

Ryan Falzon - Tymon
This poem talks about legends and folklores, and how we should not accept anything without enough facts. Now, in fact, the poem is a hypocrite, because it does not state WHY we shouldn't accept legends and folklores. So if we follow the poem, we shouldn't accept the poem as it is.

I love this! The rhymes flows very nicely and the intertwining of superstition is really clever. Very nice :D

This is amazing, between the content of it and the author's note it's just wow. I love work that's done like this, where it controdicts something that is known as a normal and kind of makes you think. It's always nice to see someone take something like supersitions, legends and such, and give them new light as something that should be considered. If that makes any sense at all. Anyhow, it's a really great piece, but I don't think anything I could say does it true justice as a review that should be given.

Ooooh! Wow! I really loved this poem, it was neat in the way you wrote it. I especially love the last stanza and the "see both sides of the glass". A really amazing poem that is all too true, even though i am a LITTLE superstitious, lol. :)
