My dearest Friend.

My dearest Friend.

A Poem by Ryan Falzon - Tymon
"

A poem about a friend.

"
Hello my friend, we meet again.
Are you going to mock me?
Or maybe lend a hand?

When my troubles shadow me, I turn to you.
With your dull stare, I can clear my head.
And see what is true.

When happiness overfills me, I turn to you.
And savor that moment for a rainy day,
To which I turn when my face is glue.

When an idea strikes me, I turn to you.
And present the idea in a flow of concept
from which my mind then grew.

You are my dearest friend,
never shall I let you go,
As you are always there,
To generate my flow.

I fear one day you will fade,
My friend, the blank page.

... extremely well-written ... loved it all the way ... the idea ... the rendition ... the words ... the rhyme ... there's just one inaccuracy that's standing out ... "from which my mind has grew" ... "from which my mind has grown" ... would be grammatically correct ... but for the sake of the rhyme i guess one alternative could be "from which my mind then grew" ... yet for this beautiful ode to the blank page ... the best friend of everyone who writes ... you deserve the highest rating ...

I agree, if anyone can't relate at least in part to this, you must wonder what they are doing on this site. For me, the blank page is a virtual one, but its role is the same.

I find it interesting that you put emotions ahead of "when and idea strikes me", because I only write when I have an idea. Often the idea is expressing some emotion, but I don't set out to put it in to words without a pre-existing idea. I'd be interested to know what inspires other people to write.

Yes, the blank page is perhaps the Muse... It can be friend or foe, depending on the writer who looks upon it and dreams. And maybe, after sufficient time has passed, something magical happens and a page is written.
But how pretty it is to gaze upon while it remains virgin and full of possibility...!!
Well-written, and the concept is nicely-imagined, once more deceiving the reader like leaving clues to a meaning they already think they know...
A writer's poem. I think.

Yes I understand now. The blank page. I must read every line to grasp the meaning in poetry and writing. Your poetry is strong and can test us old people mind. I love the poetry that need time and thought. Thank you for your poetry.

We need people who can make us laugh and pick us up. I like this poem. Your description and story was very good. A real friend will re-appear when life become slower again. Kids and bills take us away from the good things in life. Nothing as good as conversation and a friend's smile. A excellent poem.
