Tick.Tock.Tick

Tick.Tock.Tick

A Poem by Ryan Falzon - Tymon
"

Poem about time.

"
Tick. Tock. Tick.
Time walks away.
Tick. Tock. Tick.
ignoring our say.

Every tick that goes by,
is followed by a tock,
and is thought to fly
before dropped like a rock

Tick. Tock. Tick.
The end of the day.
Tick. Tock. Tick.
Time to hit the hay.

Another day gone and erased,
buried under the memory seas
Forever in it's resting place,
and soon to rot under the trees.

Tick. Tock. Tick.
It is your time.
Tick. Tock. Tick.
To cross the line.

Each Tick that must be properly detected.
and then it has to be fully protected.

Another great poem. I really enjoyed it. I thought every stanza was awesome.

Really interesting actually, this is quite surprsing in a way, now you mention the sonnet type. It has a strange sort of nursery rhyme style - but puts points across relatively profoundly considering its simplicity.
It manages to capture how time is so impossibly elusive and eternal (with or without our comprehension).
The last two lines are unusual (even within the context of this poem) and I think that's what makes it seem different somehow.
And the imagery of time is pretty effective and done concisely.
The subject of time fascinates me, so I could go on talking about this until we forget how much of it has been wasted...!

You may need to look at the exact form of the sonnet. I deleted my contest because no one seemed to know exactly what I wanted. I do really enjoy this poem, however! A sonnet is a 14 line poem, with 10 syllables a line, and usually as one stanza, maybe two broken at the eighth line. Take a look at my poems "Mother on a Mission" and "Spenserian Racy Proposal" to see this. Shakespearean sonnets also have a specific rhyme scheme, which you can see in "Mother on a Mission" or my poem "The Best of Fetishes".

You may not have known the form, but this is a nice poem. I really enjoyed it.
