Facebook gave Grandpa PowersA Story by NewWriterOldWorldYour grandfather is dying so you asked on Facebook to pray for him. Your post has gone viral and your grandfather has become too powerful and broke out of hospitalListen, I love my Grandpa, I really do. He has always been so caring, especially towards my siblings and I. My mom was single, so if we needed something, he would never deny us help or ridicule her for her problems. He is the first true, real man I ever knew in my life and the closest thing I have to a father. With that being said... He is a genuine a*****e and probably one of my least favorite people on this earth. Before I go on, I am sure you think I lied about all that stuff I said above, but believe me, I didn't. He does do all those things for us, and he is a good man but I cannot tell you the amount of times he has "reminded" me to mow the lawn. This was like an automatic daily reminder set at 7:00 AM, new grandpa voice included, type of reminder. And for that, I hate him but still, I am somewhat of a religious guy. I wear a cross sometimes and even attend Mass on most Holidays, you know, like Christmas and stuff. So, I know what needs to be done and I know the fastest way to saving him. I need to make a prayer request status on my Facebook page. Well, I did and well, my Facebook has been blowing up since. Somehow, my status, which is just a cute picture of my grandpa playing checkers with his buddies, along with a write up I did about his lung cancer, went completely viral. So far, it has been shared over five hundred thousands times and that has only come within the past eight hours. The shares just keep coming and the comments keep rolling, nearly all of them are filled with "AMENS" and "Prayers Incoming" or something else faith based. My family members and friends keep blowing my phone up me and telling me of the good news, specifically my mother. "Your Grandpa is healed! His cancer is gone Ty, it is completely gone!", she said over the phone, her voice cracking with emotion. "It happened after your post. I swear! It's probably a coincidence, but even so, that is still amazing!" "Thank God he is fine... and yeah right mom but that is pretty cool huh? Some of the videos on Facebook have over 35 million views!", I said. "Ty, one sec. Hold on, let me call you back", she said, her voice barely coming through over the screams her phone was picking up" She ended up hanging up on me. I called her back four times but all the phone did was keep ringing until I got voicemail. I thought about rushing to the hospital but I assumed it was nothing and if it was something, my mom would call me back anyway. Well, it wasn't my mom who called me back but my aunt. "Ty! Ty, is that you? That you Ty?", my Aunt Terry shouted at me before I could even get a word in. "Yes Terry, it's me. I have given you my number at least 10 times in the last 5 years", I said, trying to curb my instant frustration that accompanies me every time I her voice. "Ty, your Grand-" "I know Terry! My Grandpa is healed! Jesus Terry, don't you think my mom would tell me something that important? Use your head" "No Ty, your Grandpa just killed three nurses at the Hospital. He bear-hugged all three of them, his catheter flopping all over the place like a yellow salmon, and he killed them! Security rushed in but he was gone! He jumped out the window!" Before she could even finish, I flipped on the local news, knowing if what she said was true, it would be on the TV. Sure enough, there he was, my grandpa and his catheter, jumping from building to building like a geriatric, hairless baboon. His laugh was manic but still, hilariously funny sounding. It was amazing to see the transformation that he had taken on, and how graceful he was as he escaped. His body looked like it reverted back to his prime except this time, he appeared to be weighing nearly 300 pounds more, rock solid and full of muscle. Even from the chopper following him from above, his size was impressive. After watching a few minutes of it in complete silence and shock, I wanted to see how the internet was reacting, especially considering there was such a dramatic turn of events related to something that was still in the process of going viral. I opened up my Facebook and before I could even start searching, the first thing that popped up in my news feed was a live video of my grandpa on CNN. A news ticker ran at the bottom of the screen and my eyes widened as I read it. "Facebook releases a statement confirming the deletion of a newly found viral Facebook post regarding a prayer chain. They released no official reasoning, other than it was urgent and the matter had to be resolved." The second I finished reading the statement in my head, I heard a yell from the local news caster. I ran over to the TV to see what the commotion was about, and then I saw him. My grandpa was on top of a car, body completely mangled from an obviously high fall. The camera changed back to the station as quick as possible. As the newscasters started to apologize and tried to smooth over the situation, I turned off the TV and headed back over to my computer. I needed to make a new post. "Prayers needed. My Grandpa just died and I have Cancer too. Please share!" © 2017 NewWriterOldWorld |
