Crystals Hypnotize

Crystals Hypnotize

A Poem by Roger Morrison
"

Thoughts of heaven dreams of hell we're dying in the wishing well

"

Crystals Hypnotize

Laughter of our dead surprise…

Soft suicide engraved in her eyes

Sideshow romance let’s play freaks

From a broken vase your body leaks

Like wilted flowers drinking blood

We smoke the poisoned bud

Born from sunrise

Die by sunset

Zombies lost upon the moon

Earth… we forget

Films of red over our eyes

We’re bleeding rain upon your skies

Watch our kingdom crystallize

Death… hypnotize

Alone, bled out by cutting rain

Feeling desolate

Inside the serpent dances like

A tortured pleasure-pet

Our hearts are twitching drained of life

Taking love in like a knife

Bleeding dreams, stain the sheets, we

Suffocate discreetly

The crystal castles in your brain

Fading into mist

Our fate is written like names on

A lonely killer’s list

Voices call; some far, some near

We whisper in the other’s ear

Thought of heaven; dreams of hell

We’re dying in the wishing well

Slouching creatures drag their claws

Crawl from the dark abyss

Baring teeth with bloody smiles

Begging for a kiss

Demon screeches gospel, sing them

As we smoke the burning kingdom

Flickering flame, dehumanize

Crystals hypnotize…

Climb through the windows of your eyes

Act like we’ve never met

Inject another cold dose

Of needle-sharp regret

Death hypnotize, laughing dead surprise

Beneath the ocean floor, our heaven lies…

Author's Note

Roger Morrison
Think of the bold lettering like talking, and the italics like an inner monologue. Or don't.
Song written on 5/12/11. Think tune of "The Mortician's flame" by Acid Bath (just the song I had stuck in my head when I wrote this)
