Throne

Throne

A Poem by Roger Morrison

Throne

Tyler Allen

I built you a throne

Out of gold, out of stone

Now you’ve left me on my own

Our kingdom is empty

For me to rule alone

I wretchedly bled

All the words I never said

You crept out of my head

And left me to wake up

Alone in this bed

Lost in the maze

Of eternal black haze

Your words were the rays

Of light that might’ve saved me

From my mind’s wicked ways
