In Stone

In Stone

A Poem by Alex

I in GOD’s image create " You

Golem features mirror love.

Hand caresses cool surface.

The memory of your lips flows from fingertips.

Can not resist, linger in traits,

softly touch what I can no longer reach .

Moonlight though windows, lay on marble,

Embracing creation birthed by force and chisel.

Your hands so eloquent in touch,

 now suspended in Italian stone.

To breath life in the design, mount it, lay my head on its chest.

Wishing rhythm into silence

,warmth within cold.

No tears will soften her resolve.

One last kiss within the weight of love,

tomorrows hammer will turn this to dust .

Beautiful! I can see the block of marble, the mason, their yurning to recapture in stone what life left behind.
