The Past

The Past

A Poem by Tyler Berg

The Past

The past is real

this much is true

I want to feel

like I used to

So much anger

so much hate

if I heap on anymore

I will surely break

I sit and remember

everything we said

I wish I still had your picture

but twas reduced to cinder

I remember your smile

I remember your laugh

I still hold you close

I want you see you once in awhile

My heart is still broken

because I broke yours

but now you are his

So many things left unspoken

A smile grazes my face

when I think of you

You always made it better

I felt my rightful place

Your lips were the first I tasted

and I remember the shock

when I placed mine against yours

I know my time wasnt wasted

You told me you loved me

and I broke your trust

I love you with all I had

and all I was going to be

Your name echos through my mind

but due to my careless nature

because of my caullus streak

I have had to leave you behind

I wish I could feel

you against my skin

my future doesnt exist

because the past is real

"A smile grazes my face"... that is awesome. It paints a picture, really. And also "My future doesn't exist/Because the past is real"... that is brilliant. Keep writing. Never never stop what you're doing. This stuff rocks!
