In The End

Seeing your life end before you.

In the end my love for life ignites in flames
The pain in me increased
In the end I see it all everything I did in life
The images clear as crystal
Like the book of creation the pages flip by fast
Like a fast forward movie
In the end I see how it ends life and it purposes
Like a predictor I could tell
In the end I saw it enfold what was and is to be
Like an ocean's waves the beginning crashes
In the end life crawls away and everything in it
Like the sky clears on my life flashed by.

Looks like the persona doesn't have control over his/her life. there is the issue of fate, the futility of man's work because the end is inevitable. just the first line for example, "In the end my love for life ignites in flames", even a positive initiative by the persona towards his/her life leads to an inevitable destruction of life. The themes of vanity of life and fate are very clear. it is looks like an existentialist piece.

The language is brilliant, perfect application of similes: Like the book of creation the pages flip by fast/Like a fast forward movie..." and the similes are dominant in the poem. And they kind show life like an inescapable forgery, something not real, life is a "like" not original. its a nice piece
