Worthy of a LoveA Poem by James Mckay
I know I've yet to feel the touch of such sweet, soft skin
Or the wet, moist lips of such a gentle, damp kiss It's not because I hit speed bumps or a few dead-ends Or stood by and allowed myself to just simply miss I tell myself that I'm okay with just being lonely It may just prevent me from ever getting hurt But I know I'm missing out on my one and only To fully get to treasure the value of someone's worth To look into those compassionate eyes and get totally lost To witness their heart in all its glory and love To ponder for hours trying to figure their every thought And to continue to push forward to always give them enough To pull their hair back and to wipe their every tear To hold their hand and caress each and every curve To comfort them when they've been overtaken with fear And to work my tail off to give them what they deserve I know there will be obstacles along each and every path Nothing is every easy but we do it with faith and will With strength and determination we get ourselves on track We persevere and move forward as we descend the hill I don't know what challenges will lay ahead of me The road is definitely rocky and it is bound to get tough But I'll continue to be who God intended me to be Someone that someday will be worthy of a love! by: James W. I began writing at an early age and I'm sure most of our poetry started with "Roses are Red", etc. I'm not sure where my love or desire for poetry came from .. more..Writing
