Conscience

Conscience

A Poem by James Mckay

Hey you! The one with the pen
Are you ready to write yourself another poem?
So what shall we write about today?
Do we need a subject? No! Every thing okay?
You can write about your feelings or the events of today
You can close your eyes and focus or ask your heart what to say
Don't leave the paper blank
Come on man, you gotta think
There are no wrong words; just be yourself
And I'm sure everything will be written well
It doesn't have to rhyme
Or be short or long
Please take your time
So it doesn't come out wrong
No, I don't mean to rush you
Poetry doesn't really take perfection
Just keep the words right in view
Sometimes they can be a reflection
I'm sure you'll write the way that you want
In you, I should learn to put in way more trust
For sometimes things that are said could be important
Okay, I'll back off and talk to you later.
                    Sincerely, your conscience!
