SinkingA Poem by James Mckay
I will not float
For I know I'll sink I'll engulf the water Like taking a drink Like a fishing weight I sink to the bottom I'll get entangled on a root Torn off and forgotten Like a piece of torn paper Drifting along the wind Fall into a drainage ditch To never been seen again Minding my own business Dreading this drastic heat Then in pursuit I'm running From hungry and vicious beast Standing in an auditorium Crowd staring back at me Someone drops my shorts Laughter is my own mockery I want to crawl out of my skin I want to shine a little differently Yes I want to be someone else I am tired of being me! by:JWM 8-1-23 © 2023 James Mckay |
