The Visitors at the Treehouse: The Final Chapter

The Visitors at the Treehouse: The Final Chapter

A Poem by James Mckay

David asked if he and his crew could stay at the ranch tonight
They needed to re-group and re-strategize what to do next
His people began setting up tents in the barn and the stables
And set up a defense perimeter in case of any unwanted guest
Someone hollered for David and he made his way out there
It appears there may be some concern for immediate alarm
David told the family that there had been some footprints spotted
And he told them that it was only a few hundred feet behind the barn
So dad asked them if this sort of thing will involve military action
Or will it involve marching into their territory doing an extermination
And David and Brian both agreed that since they've become hostile
That the next course of action would have to be total annihilation
First we would get a hold of a helicopter and go out at nightfall
We would use infrared or night vision to scope out the creatures
Then during the day, we would find their den and set up explosives
And then once everything and everyone was clear,we kill the monsters
Dad asked if that was legal and what about the local and or state police
He kept on asking if they think needed to leave the ranch for several days
David assured him that everything would be all right; they'll make some calls
And he said it would be best they do so that he and his family is not in the way
As we were packing, David was making phone calls and made dad sign a waiver
And as we were leaving there was a helicopter on a flatbed trailer under a tarp
We finally made it to the hotel and mom was pacing back and forth worried
Johnathan and I were anticipating the outcome once tomorrow comes after dark
The next afternoon we all were outside waiting to hear the explosion and chaos
Then an hour later is when we heard the loud blast and now needed answers
We left the motel and headed down the road watching the smoke cloud rise
We made it through the gate and up the drive but that's as far as we could get in there
One of his crew was on the radio and they said David was surveying the blast scene
They had to make sure there was no other exits or way for them to escape
Once they had the okay that everything was secure and safe for them to leave
He radioed back telling them to tell us that they were all good and on their way
Months go by and Johnathan and I were thinking about rebuilding the tree house
So with our folks permission we began reconstruction and built it better to our surprise
Then that night, he and I spent the night and we had ourselves a really great time
Then we heard some noises and I shone my light and saw nothing but yellow eyes!

THE END
