Monster

Monster

A Poem by James Mckay

You're really good at hiding your true form
I guessed you changed after you were born

There's a different look there upon your jaw
Just tell me where you hide all your claws

You have a really sharp tongue; where's the fangs?
I'm sure there are places you can hide them things

You have everyone really fooled; yes even myself
You love putting everyone through their personal hell

Why should you explain yourself? Does it matter?
You could care less who's lives who have shattered

You don't need to be some hairy beast that waits for a moon
You don't have to live in a coffin or wrapped up in a tomb

You don't have to be a part of folklore or from science fiction
You just change the kind of person you are without restriction

Demons go by many names and so do movie mobsters
But you, yourself, are your very own kind of monster!
