Into Her Waiting Arms

Into Her Waiting Arms

A Poem by James Mckay

As soon as my head hit the pillow
I slipped off to sleep a dream
And most of the time they're awkward
But it took me to my favorite scene

Maybe I thought enough about her
Maybe I bragged so much about her charms
But I was so happy that it sent me
Right into her waiting arms

I felt her lips upon mine
I felt her skin and sensitive touch
Oh how I longed for this
Oh how I love her so very much

We walked hand in hand
We walked along the beach
We walked down the wooden pier
I could feel the nails beneath

The sea was roaring and crashing
The gulls were in a massive swarm
But I was so happy I was there
Right into her waiting arms

Every kiss was magical and moist
Every star was shine so bright
I just didn't want to wake up
I wanted to dream all night

I pulled away after our kiss
The silence was soft and low
I couldn't hear what she had said
Then I was staring at my pillow

I pounded the mattress so hard
Then sounded was my alarm
I wanted to fall back asleep so fast
So I could be right back into her arms

The next night the dream was different
I didn't see her, it was all about a barn
I pray one night that I'll slip off to dream
And be right into her waiting arms!

Welcome! :)
Sweet, romantical dreaming. The heart is always a dreamer. This reads like the love of a younger person. I, too, have dreamed and wanted to return to the dream. I find that a piece of chocolate will take you there.
