Holding It Together

Holding It Together

A Poem by James Mckay

So many years have passed
Not sure how long I will last
Each second goes by too fast
Will I ever be in your arms?

I'm not sure how you have patience
Most days I keep feeling resistance
But I know my heart is persistent
But I still hear its alarms

I know we do belong together
For we both have stormed the weather
We've both been torn and tethered
We have fought through it all

For now we must remain focus
And just keep thinkin positive
Soon things will be going for us
And we shall conquer that wall.

I am trying not lose it
I know that you're important
You are my equivalent
You will be mine forever

I cannot wait to see your eyes
To place my hand upon your thighs
Just like the clouds in the skies
I am holding it together.
