We Were Just KidsA Poem by James Mckayjust describing my little brother and I as kids growing upSouth Texas in the 80's
Livin on an old dirt road Just drivin' our folks crazy Catchin' fireflies and horny toads Burnin' ants with a magnifying glass Staying up late at night Runnin' from dad Who whooped our a*s Having roman candle fights Playin the original Nintendo Watching Saturday morning cartoons Eating cold cereal from a bowl Us acting like the Looney Tunes We went to Sunday School And acted up in Church We thought we were being cool But boy that belt did hurt Mama was an angel But daddy was discipline We weren't hard too handle We were just kids back then. by: James W.
