Cartoons

Cartoons

A Poem by James Mckay
"

Growing up as a kid in the 80's, the cartoons back then were the absolute best and still are in my opinion. I just wanted to share them with you; a few of my favorites.

"
CARTOONS

I loved watching the Autobots battle against the Decepticons
I also enjoyed the five lions that formed into the Mighty Voltron

There was He-Man and Battlecat going after the villian Skeletor
And there was G.I Joe and Snake Eyes pursuing Cobra Commander

There was Lion-O and the Thundercats and good ol' Duck Tales
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Fraggle Rock, and Chip n Dale

The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Inspector Gadget, and the Smurfs, too
Bravestar and Mask, The Real Ghostbusters, and the gang of Scooby-Doo

Beetlejuice, The Gummi Bears, The Care Bears, and She-Ra as well
I'd watch Mighty Max and Captain Planet and collect cards of Garbage Pail

There's the masked avenger Darkwing Duck and the characters of Talespin
Animaniacs, Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Littles, Garfield, and Batman

There's Mighty Mouse, Popeye and Fat Albert, Heathcliff, and Speed Buggy
D & D, Mr. T., Muppet Babies, the Visionaries, and of course, Tom & Jerry

There was so many variations of animation from the 80's and 90's cartoons
But you can never forget about Bugs Bunny, Elmer, Daffy and the rest of the Looney Tunes

I know that I haven't listed them all but I bet it brings back memories for my generation
To kick back and reminisce and try to recall all of that wonderful animation

Cartoons have changed undoubtedly over the years and everyone will say that their's was the best
But no matter what decade you came from, you used your imagination to go on an adventure or quest

No matter how old you get, there's still a kid inside of you even as time flies by
And as for me and those that grew up as I did, there's more to us than meets the eye!
