The Little SoldierA Poem by TwoDaysTooLateA depressing poem I wrote...
Put down your sword,
Lower your guard, Oh little brave soldier, You have worked too hard, The world is a mean place, That I can't deny, But you're not sad, little soldier, Why don't you cry? 'Sir I am sorry,' The little soldier said, 'I've a girl, and a home, and a place to lay my head.' Oh little brave soldier, You've got more than I, But once in a while, It is okay to cry. 'My girl has left me!' The little soldier cried, 'My house has been sold, And my savings fried!' Little soldier, little soldier, You are no different from me. I feel depressed all day, Everything is bleak, nothing to see. So little soldier, What do you say? My time is now gone. Goodbye little soldier, don't you weep. Think. Live. And carry on.
