Shiny, the SnowmanA Poem by Twisted Words (Tom)from the life of a snowmanShiny, in the winters cold The hansom snowman to behold A dance with frozen stars at night Sparkling crystals in moonlight As others shun the season's chill The frost bound man so firm in thrill Some ill-placed roses in his chest A heart so red, and yet unblessed Haunting him with dreams of spring A snowman damned to frosty flings A playmate on a frozen day Dreaming that the cold will stay His pretty words dressed in 'goodbye' When the air warms they'll see why Sparkling dance as moonlight glows Fearing season that he knows For sunlight threatens with each rise To perch upon his short demise Slow kisses shrink in melting snow As sure as dawning he must go In worthless streams he bleeds away Where black, coal eyes can't dance at day For when his waters leave again A melting whisper; the word 'friend' No pictures, just a memory A taste of love in secrecy As snow falls in another place Some new lips kiss Shiny's face Now in the grass where he would smile Loose petals linger in a pile The floral burden so misplaced Where pretty beats have gone to waste He would have loved... and hopes you know But he can't stay, just shine and flow 2012
