If EverA Poem by Kent SmothermanIf Ever If ever there was love so pure, so meant to be, It could hardly compare to the love we two share. For your love shines upon me as straight from heaven, So brilliant I am wholly cleansed, my soul laid bare. Yet your love does not shy from my darkness now seen. Instead it comforts me with wondrous tenderness And strength that inspires me to be more than myself, Birthing a new man of hope from your love’s caress. So it is to your love and no other that I Entrust all that I am, all I can ever be, To requite each day to you in celebration Of my life you fill with such sweet serenity. But should the world so harshly intrude upon us And seem to part our warm embrace, do not quiver. Know I love you with infinite passion as such Would fade only with the end of time, if ever. © 2012 Kent SmothermanReviews
