Starting OverA Poem by Edward CarrThis is the first poem I have written in ages, more like months and as such I know it is a horrible poem, but I am trying to get into the swing of things again.I will not lose myself to the dark. A year stuck in isolation and idleness like stagnant waters drawing flies and mosquitoes. Guts full of red wine and whiskey, more sober now, I begin to sing my song. Out of a nightmare complete with mechanical aberrations sounding demonic, driving to nowhere affluent just outside my apartment's door.
But night descends today, time recedes, the wood is quiet and I sit up, awaiting the dawn. The sun then caught in emblazoned beads of dew. Also waiting for my life to resurrect and turn at once- productive again.
