Frayed ReveriesA Poem by TwilightReverieCrawling amongst these wingless dreams trying to pull tight the stitches of sleep. I just keep falling through the fabric of these frayed reveries into a realm of another self...Nothing stemmed to neverness as young sunlight spilt through, Forms fell in before my mind, I recognised my bedroom. But these left over morsels of memory, this misplaced deja vu, scattered like a shattered mirror, piercingly tangible but untrue. So with feet firmly planted and net swung wide I combed the sandy seas of my somnambulant mind. And the puzzle that these rocks and pearls would create, Was a perfectly traced yet granulated portrait of your face. Crawling amongst these wingless dreams trying to pull tight the stitches of sleep. I just keep falling through the fabric of these frayed reveries into a realm of another self, a you I wish I could believe. These cardboard dialogues propped up behind my eyes, I try to cut them up but deep down they’re what I desire. Because just as I know your smile’s my own design there’s nothing else I require. Is aroused to once again play out Only in the folds of my dreams. Hold tight, its all just A betrayal by my eyes, Falling through where feet Have trodden a thousand times. Because I am smart enough to know I’m a memory you burnt a long time ago but yours is more stubborn as the embers perpetually glow. © 2010 TwilightReverieReviews
