Two Paths

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what to do..so I wrote this:

There are two roads in front of me

each leading to a different place

a different life in both

a different person, a different face.

 

I've thought over my choices

But I have not come to decide

I wish I had someone helping my through this,

to lead me, to be a guide.

 

I don't know which path to follow

I'm not sure which one I shoud take,

What if I chose the wrong one,

and my life becomes a mistake?

 

I've wrote a list of pro and cons

I've set aside the time to think,

Sadly I don't see any answers yet,

I guess I'll sit down and try to rethink.

 

I have to think through this one more time

I hope I'll see the right road then,

This choice hasn't been easy,

but I'll never have an opportunity like this again..

My first thought when I read this was of Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken" and then I saw that someone else had referenced it as well. I've read several of your poems and I see talent there. Keep at it!

The only insight is the truth of the matter in decisions made, guess we must accept the one we decide to take, and not be afraid if it's a mistake. Have faith in your choice, and if it was wrong, so be it, we learn from our mistakes. Thanks for sharing this.

Hey, i have a poem that is called "My Path", I have the same picture too. This was really good.. And I know what you feel.

choices define who we are and decide who we will be. Too often we don't recognize how even the littliest choices in a day can change us. This is a piece that makes you think before you act. Well written!

Very well written poem, it reminds me a little of Robert Frost's 'The Road Not Taken'. We all have choices, we all have different paths in which we can take. A moment to reflect is never a bad thing, and there is always a chance of choosing the wrong path, but that is a part of life and that is how we learn. Good job.
