This Is ItA Story by lauren emilyI feel like this is very unfinished. I might go back later and add more. They stood by the pond just outside of town. They had driven there soon after school had let out to talk and--what they both hoped but neither knew--start officially going out. They walked side by side, talking about random things that had happened the past month. She was very nervous, scared to think about what might happen today..scared to think about what might not. He cheeks blushed deep scarlet any time he looked into her eyes, even for the shortest second. He was nervous as well, but he tried not to show it. He tried not to act like a dork, he tried not to look stupid, but to no avail. But, thankfully, she didn't notice. Either that or she didn't care. He let out a sigh of relief when he thought of this. "So.." He began to say when they had run out of experiences to share. "So..umm.." She repeated. It's now or never, he thought. You're not going to get another opportunity like this so just go for it!, said the little voice in his head that was his conscience. You've gotta do this! You can do this!, said the voice in her head. The summoned up their courage and.."Listen," They both began to say at the same time but then stopped and turned away from each other, embarrassed. He took this time to think about what to say. He knew it had to be something good or he could ruin everything. Why was talking to her so easy, and yet so hard? "Alright listen," He finally said, turning around to face her and gently grabbing her shoulders in his hands. He looked into her eyes and continued. "I've never felt this way about anyone before. Ever. You're really amazing and talented and smart and funny and beautiful and--the list could go on and on. I've found myself thinking about you way more than I should, but I don't mind." He smiled as he said that and then went on, "I think that--No, no, I know that..I love you." She stood completely still, staring right back into his eyes. She couldn't believe what she had just heard. She was hoping that he would say all of those things, and that she would be so happy and kiss him and hug him and be able to move, but she couldn't. The feelings that washed over her were too much. So she just stared and let the feelings find their way into the places that they should, then she knew that she would be able to move. It took just a moment, and then she could breath again. Now the only thing that she could feel was love. Pure love. True love. She couldn't help but smile and reach out her arms to hug him. She reached he lips up to his ear. "Ha..that's funny. You know why?" She whispered. "Why?" He asked his lips against her ear as well. "Because I love you, too." They were both glowing, they couldn't be happier at their new findings. He slowly leaned his lips away from her ear and preshed his forehead against hers. She signed, filled with bliss; but something was missing.. "Hey you," He said softly. He breath tickled her cheeks and sent shivers down her spine. "Hey." She said in return, smiling up at him. "You know, there's one more thing I have to do. Can you help me with it?" He asked, brushing the loose strands of hair out of her face. "I guess so..I'm up for just about anything." She agreed. "Great. Well then, my love..prepare yourself." And with that, he leaned in even closer, pressing his soft lips to hers.
