Sleep Come

Sleep Come

A Poem by lauren emily
"

Yes, I am speaking of actual sleep and not death. lol

"

Sleep come,

I don't want to wrestle with these thoughts any longer.

Sleep please come,

With this slumber, tomorrow I will be stronger.

Sleep come,

Please take this pain away.

Sleep please come,

save the agony for tomorrow or another day.

Sleep come,

I'm begging you, don't let me fret.

Sleep please come,

take the pain away so I may soon forget.

Sleep come,

I'm tired and also so stressed.

Sleep please come,

Don't you think I could use a bit of rest?

Sorry I haven't been on in a while. I really enjoyed this poem...To think that many feel this way and that you can put it in to words. It also made me think that tomorrow...
will be better once sleep has taken over...

Brava...
Tah Dah...
Hats off to you...

7:12am... rubbing my eyes, thinking I can relate to this one. Nice job, I enjoyed this very much. On a constructive note, I think the line: "I'm tired and stressed" could use just a little tweak... nothing big, perhaps just a different set of words that flow a little smoother (ie. way too, etc.). Overall, this is excellent and I enjoyed it very much; thank you for sharing!

Wow, this actually hit me as something more than just text, and something to review/rate.. I actually relate to this. Kind of scary to know and see that more people feel this way. Life can truly throw us curves, we just need to learn how to bat them away.

everyone needs rest and to sleep if they didn't get it they wouldn't be able to function.when theres so much going threw are head its hard to lay down and forget, but i find a peaceful thought in my mind like watching a waterfall, sometimes it works sometimes it don't, but i try to think of peaceful things.you are a gifted person you know that? don't ever forget that.thank you again for your poems very enlightening karen

Ive always liked poems which ask a question at the end, they normally ask the question of the reader , don't you think?

But this is cool asking a question of sleep itself... - the cruel mistress that she is... :)

I love this.
And it is actually exactly how I'm feeling right now.
