In The Beginning

In The Beginning

A Poem by Twilight
"

A Christian poem with what I would refer to as a "creationist" theme.

"

In the beginning before the light,

t'was only calm,

no day nor night,

then the Lord commandeth,

let there be light,

and so it came forth,

that the Lord showed his might,

and formeth the stars, moon, day

and the night,

to him we owe our eternal obedience on this earth,

and the need to follow his laws,

for no man is flawless,

Satan takes the lawless,

and steals them to do his bidding,

true freedom is the freedom not to sin,

without moral justification,

our lives have no real meaning,

do your best to serve the Lord,

and your soul shall have safekeeping...

I stumbled across this somehow - usually I don't even bother looking at poems because I'm generally a failure when it comes to reading or understanding a majority of them - half the ones I read here make no sense but others seem to like them.

This one caught my eye though. It's very true, very sobering - also gives a slightly different light on the traditional "In the beginning" and it's structure flows well in my opinion, the message is very clear, concise & strong and needs no explaining. :)

The other thing I quite enjoy is that you are a follower of God - keep it up and say it loud and proud :D

A very nice poem. Many truths were told in this poem. Although no one can strictly follow The Lords rules, we must always strive to stick to them as best we can to please The Lord and for our own good. That's what many Christians, including myself believe.
