Inhumanity

Inhumanity

A Poem by Twilight
"

Although an exaggeration, this poem seeks to express the despondency and occasional awkwardness of many public servants and officials. Indeed, should we simply laugh or cry at their general attitude?

"

Civil servants and public officials,

regret their daily chores,

seem to loathe the Republic,

all they want are high salaries,

and long hours to spend it,

Why do we trust them,

and still accept their thraldom?

To them we are just numbers,

to be treated all the same,

with an inhuman contempt and disdane.

Although an exaggeration of the truth (perhaps), I suspect that many readers may share similar sentiments regarding this theme?

Political writing is something I'm very interested in. I rarely find political motivated poems so clear in their message. A simple exaggeration of the truth to make your message so very clear. Excellent.

I like this!! and politically motivated poetry in general, and I do think this rings true of some (perhaps most) civil servants, but there are the few who truly want to achieve something good (the fact I'm headed this way has no bias on my views :p haha)!!
