Indictment

Indictment

A Poem by Twilight
"

A poem which is an "indictment" of various aspects of modern society. And, they seem to be getting worse....

"

So long as it's in the news,

many people remain amused,

so many crave the headlines,

whilst neglecting moral guidelines,

Soundbites and spin,

will the truth ever win?

embrace not fear the future,

despite modern culture,

It's not too late to change,

the future is not pre-ordained,

don't lose your hope yet,

but fear the socialist threat,

We need a moral code,

not celebrities' fake abode,

bureaucracy can be stopped,

the quangos should be quoshed,

burn the midnight oil,

with fine literary soil,

Respect the pro-life crowd,

the truth should not be cowd,

don't trust the humanists,

pagans or scoialists,

Christianity is not insanity,

who REALLY respects profanity?

Embrace freedom's name,

free spirits should not be tamed,

"free thinking for the world".

A well executed poem filled with great questions and truths.
I went back to see which section stood out to me most but I couldn't just pick one part. *smile*
You've really put into light many of the issues that society is struggling with, if not already lost.
We must continue to do our part and pray that one day others will reclaim their "neglected moral guidelines". For their sake, and their world's.

Unequivocal, righteously obsequious, thought provoking, focused, admirable, benignant....well spoken prose with poetic qualities.

"Freedom of the Press"

How far we have fallen when celebraties follies and plight take over the pressing events of the world. Truth has become another victum, silenced by the press.

Great write!

I LOVE IT!!! I'm not one for rhyming, unless on accident but this is good. There are no errors tht I can see and nothing seems to be off, and basically u did a really good job as usual.

Yes, may FREEEDOM regin that propogates good will among men, freedom that is superior to the "so called professed freedoms" expressed by the liberal media, and those who desire to bring our country to ruin., freedom that murders the innocent, freedom that silences freedom fought for and won by our forefathers!

An excellent eye opener type of write!!

Keep speaking the truth my friend!! There are many listening to such voices!!
