Our Twilight Years

Thoughts of the past,

are all we have,

to fight the gloom

of absent love,

 

Those blissful days,

when we were young,

and life was a game,

only just begun,

 

But why dwell,

on days long gone,

it's here and now,

where we belong,

 

So make each moment,

a worthy slice,

of that trouble and strife,

which we call LIFE!

A truly inspirational one. The wisest thing my grandmother has ever said to me was that "we make our own misery". It's true, and I for one, am guilty. We are so quick to wallow in our self-involvement because it's a whole hell of a lot easier than acceptance. (Stubborn, we are). And no one RSVP's to a pity-party.
