Memory

This poem refers to the different types of memories which we have, at various stages in our lives. Also, the unpredictable states of mind and feelings which can accompany them. And what is their true value to us?

Memories which I cherish,

Those which I adore,

Whilst others bring me fear,

Even shame or scorn

 

Memories of childhood,

From cradle to youth,

Memories good and bad,

Falsehoods or the truth?

 

Whatever your thoughts of memories,

Be they happy ones or sad,

Without my treasured memories,

I never could feel glad.
