My Rain

My Rain

A Poem by Twilight
"

In this poem, I hope to have captured the purity and redeeming qualities which we tend to associate with rain and the ocean waves. Perhaps also, I have suggested that rain can be a means of escape.

"

Oh rain please come and cleanse my soul,

Please wash it down,

From top to toe,

And then no more,

Shall I fear,

The devil's shadows as they near,

But I am safe in my garden,

Free from harm,

And from thraldom,

Despite the devil,

And my pain,

Come back to me oh blessed rain!

As I walk,

In my garden,

I long to rest upon the crest,

Of some tall wave,

My mind it wanders,

Amidst long shadows with few bright wonders,

Oh rain please come and cleanse my soul!

My mind and body,

From top to toe,

Of some tall wave,

I still seek,

Without which,

My heart it weeps.

Beautiful!!! I couldnt agree more with your train of thought concerning the cleansing quality of water. It is a resource we completely take for granted, I know there are those who despise rain, but I'm not one of them.
Your prose is tight with clearly defined content.
Loved it...and welcome to the cafe' :-)

A positive review, from a fellow Brit. too! Keep writing yourself, and best wishes.
Interesting. You made the rain seem like a Greek god of some sort. Also, I find some degree of innocence in this writing. I imagine this poem taken from the mind of a little child. You captured the way children seem to look at ordinary things with such faith and hope. Good Job.

Keep Writing. ^___^

there is something about water, that cleanses our souls and bodies. i think we all seek to be cleansed in some form or another. Water is one of our most valuable resources on this planet that so many take for granted. When you live in the desert and dont know when the next rain will come, you learn to value it.
A beautifully written poem.

The wonderful cleansing rain. You said it all so wonderfully. Take a bow and do an encore. You deserve it.

Well, it was nothing lol! Thanks for the encouragement.
Very nice! And, quite lovely to read on a chilly, rainy, Florida evening.

I see the rain as a complete and total cleansing of the narrator's mind and soul. A comfort. A solace.

Raindrops can often soothe the spirit . . . and wash away all the worries of the day and the days to come.

Beautiful!

I really like this. It seems that the person saying the poem is trying to wash away his sins, make them go away, or to better so that he doesn't go to fell.

It seems that he's desperate for it and he's truly sorry for what he did.

It's a really good poem!
