Unfortunately in this area of time people play mind games and although True love is hard to find in the modern times. The key is understanding what true love really means, and being open to embracing it when you do find it.
Love isn't about finding someone who looks perfect on the outside or meets all your predetermined criteria for a partner; rather, it's about developing an honest connection with someone that can withstand any test of time. Real love requires relationship building and communication that go far beyond physical chemistry or surface level characteristics. It involves getting to know someone deeply, flaws and all, while recognizing how they make you feel in ways no one else can.
I think as long to staying true-to-self, you will eventually attract what is meant for you.
Beautifully expressed. Thank you for sharing.

Your poem has a lot of deep feelings about love and its challenges. I think it talks about how love can be hard but also really beautiful. My mom choosed love during her life cause she wanted a beautiful life, not a easy life. Love can have consquences, but always worth it. If you asked me how love feels like, I would reply: Love is like a diamond, but it can be fake. Lovely work, Julian.

Thanks for your comments, and a few of your own insights too.
Love is a mystery tour. Once you start on that journey, who knows where it will end. If you are lucky, you strike gold, but often you get nothing but tangled webs and pain. Regardless, it doesn’t put people off from continuing to search. If you don’t at first succeed. Enjoyed your poem Twilight.
Nicely written, my friend! This poem beautifully explores the complex journey of love, from its hopeful beginnings to the challenges along the way. The imagery of the "silken cord" and the "glistening rose" captures love's delicate yet enduring nature. The sense of hope and perseverance despite the obstacles is truly moving. Lovely work!

Thanks, for the praise. And your lovely review, Efxaris. You seem to have understood it well.
I do wonder if in the lines:
“The test of time,
As a true lover's not,
Or as fleeting as a forget me not?”
The first not was meant to be knot? I’ve read it both ways and it kinda works no matter what.
Also concerning those lines with just a random anecdote: I’ve tried to grow forget me nots several times and mine are always especially short lived because the heat keeps killing them before I can get them established.
Anywhos. I had to reread this a few times and slow myself down to really appreciate it. Sometimes I have a nasty habit of rushing through and something like this needs to be absorbed a little more slowly. I had several images in my head throughout reading this and although they were all pretty disconnected it all worked. I kinda like how there was one theme throughout but it didn’t really go the way I was expecting. I thought it might be a spider (or at least a spider web) type metaphor.
This was a very thought provoking write.

The test of time,
As a true lover's not,
Or as fleeting as a forget me not?
I really like this part, this is well said about love.
I think we sugar coat love sometimes, it's not all that is supposed to be.
But I've been married now for 15 years, and we still love each other the same as the day we met. I admit there are ups and downs in any thoughts of love.
This is a wonderful write.

Thanks, Kim. I guessed that this poem might attract, quite a few reviews.
I think viewing love as a mystery as you suggest can be a good approach. So much about the state seems out of our hands. The incongruity of relationships and the way the heart can betray and be so easily betrayed.
Yet you mentioned perseverance which is definitely an important characteristic of long relationships. We will experience many trials and hills and valleys with a long term partner and going into a relationship with that understanding can make it easier to traverse the harder times. But often the fate of relationships cannot be predicted no matter how we prepare or plan. And maybe that lesson is the most important one. Giving our heart does not always guarantee a return. Love is bittersweet.
