A Traditional Southern Woman

A Traditional Southern Woman

A Poem by Twilight Dancer

A SWAG – Southern Woman Aging With Grace.

Traditional morals, values, and beliefs are firmly planted in our lives.

Really ladies, less make up is more enhancing as we mature!

Age is a state of mind and can change with each day.

Dignity, grace, and charm are the ways of southern life.

Inspiration is Christ, family, nature, and life.

Traditional fashion never goes out of style, and leaves more to the imagination.

I love God first and foremost; family, brothers and sisters in Christ are second.

Only a true Southerner knows how to make proper ice tea.

Nurturing is an innate quality of southern women.

Always ready to lend an ear or a shoulder for a friend in need.

Love God first with all of heart, mind, and soul.

Strength and tenacity are born into a southern woman, regardless of the challenge.

Only becomes ‘riled up’ if provoked beyond reason.

Uses talents and gifts wisely, and always looks for ways to grow and improve.

True GRITS – Girl Raised In The South!

Hospitality is the southern way.

Enigma to most men, i.e., a southern woman; but they love our soft southern drawl.

Remain true to yourself against all odds.

Never say ‘Never’ for you will surely have to take it back.

Will defend family, friends, and honor at any cost.

One woman for one man – monogamy is the only way.

Makes friends easily regardless of social or economic status.

A true patriot and thankful to be an American.

Not to be confused with Scarlett O’Hara-most southern women possess beauty & brains.

Ah yes...the Proverbs 31 woman. Thank you...was thinking of my wonderful wife of 19 years (this month) as I read these words. You are an example to the younger women. Thank you again...

Love your last line, poor Scarlet gets a workout doesn't she! WELL SAID BEK...You will now have to post your recipe for iced tea???? You would do well in congress, can I come? Please? I have always been intrigued by the Southern States and wanted to visit New Orleans, Mobile and see the mighty Miss....
Maybe one day I'll get there. From what I have read, Southern women are exactly as you have painted them here (without too much paint) Genteel but firm in resolve. This is a terrific acrostic...
Nicely put together,
Helen :-)
