The Nightmare's Slave

The Nightmare's Slave

A Poem by Olivia Knightmare
"

You Sleep, You Die

"
It begins in your mind
As a simple nightmare
That leaves you terrified
Pulling out your own hair
It takes over your head
And fills all of your thoughts
Alive but you feel dead
And your stomach in knots
You find yourself awake
In the dark of the night
Is it real or just fake?
It's giving you a fright
It's hiding in your closet
Closing in for the kill
There's nothing to stop it
Destroy you, it will
Now its inside your soul
Creeping into your heart
The fear's made you cold
And til death will it part
Tormented til you die
I'll haunt you forever
Slumber is what you'll try
But sleep you will never
You are in my hands now
You will do what i say
For today you will bow
Your sky forever grey
Your light doesn't scare me
I'll kill you when i want
Afternoon, day or night
It is you i will haunt
Just one little nightmare
Has brought death upon you
Dragged you down to my lair
To me, you will stay true
You are the Nightmare's slave
Living always in fear
So you better behave
Or you'll be dead, my dear
I control your spirit
Afraid of your own rest
And forever fear it
For you, i have possessed
For if you fall asleep
You might never wake up
Believe me, i know this
Its your soul I'll take up
Or rather, take it down
To a more fearful hell
And to my next victim
Your story i will tell
