Orphan SkyA Poem by Margo SeussA place where all the forgotten children go.Trace her in the window pane. See stars fall from her eyes. Why does she wait? The glass child. Alone in shadow giants. * He marries the night with sap on his wings. He smears roses on her cheeks. He tells a story. Caresses the pages. Steals echoes from her mind. * Remember her? Her paper hair? Silver faces like scattered words― parchment forgotten in the wind. She’s the family wilted above drawers of knibs. A washed out portrait in a sea of Monet framed in old church bells. * A place where flowers stretch too tall. Lonely. Stone gardens crumble. He’ll watch you wave your rusted hands as she becomes the orphan sky.
