A Perfect MorningA Poem by Justin GbluhIt was finally the weekend And it was a perfect morning I rose from my bed Groggily I rubbed the sleep from my eyes And through back the curtains The suns light lanced through the window Temporarily blinding me in its glory When my eyes adjusted though I peered out the window The sun rested headily near the top of the sky not yet hitting its apex It shined across the great blue maw of the open sky Mixing wonderfully with the little clouds that were like cotton balls in the sky The warmth of the sun heated the earth Making the day very warm But not uncomfortably so The grass sparkled like gemstones as the sun illuminated the still dew I took all of this in appreciating the beauty of nature And let out a small sigh of pleasure It was the perfect morning And it was finally the weekend © 2012 Justin G |
